About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is grown in the hills around Imola, on land once owned and farmed by the Counts of Codronchi.
Vinification
Albana is harvested late. The bunches are selected on the vine and picked individually by hand over multiple passes through the vineyard, beginning only when the berries show the first signs of noble rot caused by Botrytis. The estate has studied the effect of Botrytis on the wine’s flavour for many years.
Tasting profile
The wine has a strong mineral character and develops greater maturity and complexity over time.
Label / history
The wine is dedicated to the Counts of Codronchi, the noble lords of the municipality of Imola who formerly owned and cultivated the land on which Fattoria del Monticino Rosso now stands.
