About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes come from the Campolive vineyard near Alba. The vines were planted in 1978 on limestone and clay soils, at a density of 4,600 vines per hectare.

Vinification

Fully ripe grapes are harvested in late September. After pressing, fermentation takes place in stainless-steel rotary fermenters for 10 days at 26–28 °C. The wine is bottled without filtration.

Ageing

The wine matures for 18 months in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by 2 months in stainless-steel tanks.

Tasting profile

The aroma is expressive, with notes of berries and spices. The palate is elegant, full and well balanced.

Serving and pairing

Pairs with stewed or roasted meat, game, cheeses and other Italian dishes.

Label / history

Campolive means “a place where olive trees once grew.”
