About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Schiava vines grow on slopes around Cortaccia s.s.d.v., rooted in calcareous clay and gravelly soils. They are trained on the region’s traditional pergola system. Yield is 70 hl/ha.

Grapes

A blend of various Schiava varieties. Alto Adige DOC.

Vinification

The grapes are destemmed immediately and fermented for eight days at a constant temperature. Regular pumping over and gentle pressure from below keep the must in contact with the skins, supporting color extraction and fruit expression.

Tasting profile

Light ruby to ruby red. The bouquet is fresh, pleasant and fruity, with the characteristic expression of Schiava. The palate is light, lively, dry, mild and harmonious, finishing with subtle bitter-almond tones.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 14–16 °C. Pair with appetizers, smoked or cured meats, grilled or broiled meats and mild cheeses. Cellaring potential is 2–3 years.
