Vendemmia 2024: in brief
Favorable conditions produced a generous crop in Montepulciano after the low-yielding 2023 season. Because excessive fruit can compromise uniform phenolic maturity, part of the crop was thinned to maintain consistent ripeness and grape quality.
Later in the season, a 40-day heatwave was followed by rain. Harvest decisions were made day by day so that fruit could be collected promptly before the rainfall. The cellar also explored whole-cluster layering during fermentation, carbonic maceration and other experimental techniques intended to deepen understanding of the vineyards’ potential.
