Querciabella Chianti Classico 2014: a Vintage for Purists

The 2014 growing season was unusually cool and wet, requiring exacting vineyard work and careful decisions. A decade later, the wine retained freshness, energy and fruit expression, with soft but structured tannins and a mineral finish. Jancis Robinson awarded it 17+/20 during a London retrospective organised by Nelson Pari and Federico Moccia.

The article framed the vintage as an example of Sangiovese’s ability to preserve finesse in difficult conditions and of the flexibility required in increasingly unpredictable seasons. A limited quantity was released to mark Querciabella’s 50th harvest.
