A century of Valtellina history becomes the book CULTO
Casa Vinicola Aldo Rainoldi marked its hundredth anniversary with CULTO, conceived as more than a commemorative object. Edited by Michele Mauri with art direction by Paolo Vallara, it follows the family from founder Aldo Rainoldi in 1925 to Marco and Maria Vittoria. The narrative covers Giuseppe “Peppino” Rainoldi’s post-war quality revolution, the arrival of the wines in New York and Aldo Rainoldi junior’s combination of tradition, innovation and exports to more than thirty countries. Michela Benigni, historic grape suppliers, employees and the younger generation contribute to a collective account organised around the idea of wine as culture. The concluding perspective treats the centenary as a new beginning shaped by sustainability, emerging markets and continued stewardship of Valtellina.
