About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes are carefully selected from vineyards in Valtellina Superiore.

Ageing

The wine matures for 15 months in new French oak barrels, followed by 23 months in bottle. The bottles are stored horizontally in a cool, dark cellar.

Tasting profile

Characterful yet gentle rather than harsh, the wine opens gradually in aroma and flavour and has a long finish.

Serving and pairing

Decant for approximately 2–3 hours before serving.

Label / history

Rainoldi was founded in 1925 by Aldo Rainoldi, son of Giuseppe Rainoldi, who was already known at the time as an exporter of wine and agricultural products to neighbouring Switzerland.
