Grapes
Sangiovese is the principal variety, with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot.
Ageing
After fermentation, the wine matures in French oak barrels for 9–14 months, followed by a further nine months in bottle.

Firmly structured, with ample character.
Label / history
Italo Zingarelli created the wine in 1985 as a tribute to his younger son, Sergio, who joined him at the helm of Rocca delle Macie that year. The name also alludes to “sangioveto”, an old name for Sangiovese.
