About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyards were improved following soil analysis.

Grapes

The wine incorporates a selection of Sangiovese vines.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested and sorted by hand. They undergo 12–14 days of skin maceration, followed by alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. The winemaking process was revised when the wine was created.

Ageing

The wine matures for 6–10 months in Slavonian or French oak barrels, followed by further maturation in bottle in the winery’s cellars.

Label / history

The wine dates from the founding of Rocca delle Macie, and its history is closely connected with that of the winery.
