About this wine
The historical Toscana version of Romitorio di Santedame is a red blend from Ruffino. In the 1999 vintage, Colorino and Merlot combine in a concentrated, juicy wine. Black cherry leads the aromatic profile, accompanied by mocha and chocolate. Richness is supported by a substantial structure, while ripe tannins carry a long, dry finish. The 1999 bottling has 13.5% alcohol. These characteristics describe the historical Toscana wine, whose blend differs from later Chianti Classico releases.
