About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from three 1-hectare vineyards: Poggio Piglia in Chiusi, Greppiano in Lamporecchio, and Greppo in Abbadia di Montepulciano. The Trebbiano is associated with the Poggio Piglia estate, while the Vermentino is produced in collaboration with the Greppiano estate.
Grapes
75% Trebbiano and 25% Vermentino.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel. The wine is bottled unfiltered and is produced from grapes alone, without added sulfites, selected yeasts, tannins, or other additives. The style is conceived around precise aromas, redox and volatile stability, and reliability as the wine develops in bottle.
Ageing
Maturation lasts four months, with 70% of the wine held in stainless steel and 30% in wood, followed by three months of bottle refinement.
Technical data
The 2024 vintage has 12.5% alcohol, pH 3.56, and residual sugar of 1.21. Production was 8,000 bottles. It is organic wine and is packaged in a 395 g standard Burgundy bottle with a screwcap, exclusively in a 750 ml format. Wood-based packaging materials come from responsible sources, and the winery's integrated sustainability management is certified.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 14–16 °C. Expected drinking window: 2–3 years.
Vintage notes
Prolonged extreme summer heat in 2024 caused the vines to limit fruit ripening. The resulting wines were less full-bodied than usual while retaining freshness and balance.
Label / history
Obvius Bianco was first produced in 2016. It belongs to Salcheto's Neo Natural range and presents an unfiltered, fruit-focused interpretation of Trebbiano and Vermentino.
