About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The wine comes from Barbera grown within the Province of Cuneo, on the slopes around Alba that descend toward the Tanaro River. The vineyards lie below 650 m on iron-rich clay soils. Yield is 10 tonnes of grapes per hectare, equivalent to 70 hl of wine.

Grapes

100% Barbera.

Vinification

Harvest takes place in the first ten days of October, with careful selection of the grape bunches. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are conducted at controlled temperature using innovative techniques.

Ageing

A brief passage in Slavonian oak is followed by bottle maturation before release.

Technical data

Barbera d’Alba DOC. Alcohol: 14% vol.

Tasting profile

Intense ruby red, with a delicate, vinous aroma and notes of red fruit. When young, the palate is lightly tannic with lively acidity and good structure. With some age, it becomes softer and more elegant.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 18 °C with red or white meat, braised or boiled dishes, tartare or feathered game.
