About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Nebbiolo grows on well-exposed hills below 650 metres, in clay and limestone soils.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo. The variety bears small, compact bunches with blue-tinged red skins.

Vinification

Harvest runs from the middle to the end of October. The yield is 9 tonnes of grapes per hectare, equivalent to 63 hectolitres of wine. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out at controlled temperature using modern techniques.

Ageing

The wine spends six months in stainless-steel vats, followed by approximately six months in Slavonian oak casks. It then matures in bottle before release.

Technical data

Alcohol: 14% vol.

Tasting profile

Initially red with bluish nuances, the wine develops garnet tones with age. Its delicate bouquet recalls violets. The palate is fine and elegant, with light tannins and a balanced, velvety texture.

Serving and pairing

Serve at 18–22 °C with tartare or pasta dressed with meat sauces.

Label / history

The name Nebbiolo is linked to nebbia, the Italian word for fog. Traditionally, the grapes are harvested in late October as the first fogs rise over the Langhe hills.
