First release of Vite Talin

The project began in 1987 in Natale Ronzana’s Le Coste vineyard, where Luciano identified a vine with sparse bunches, small dark berries, reduced vigour and deeply lobed leaves. He marked it for observation, conducted microvinifications and multiplied it through field grafting. The repeated characteristics and promising colour, tannin and balance led to collaboration with ampelographer Anna Schneider.

The 2013 harvest produced the first wine Luciano considered ready to bear the Sandrone name. DNA analysis in 2017 then confirmed that the plant was Nebbiolo. The wine was named Vite Talin: “vite” for the original vine and “Talin” for Natale Ronzana, the grower who had entrusted Luciano with the vineyard.

The 2013 spent three years in French oak—two in tonneaux and one in large cask—followed by three years in bottle. Its 2019 release completed the first commercial stage of a research and selection project that has continued through sanitation, experimental planting and aromatic analysis.
