Forty years of Luciano Sandrone

The anniversary retraced Luciano’s path from a garage-based producer without inherited vineyards to a 27-ha family estate in Langa and Roero. It recalled the 1977 purchase at Cannubi Boschis, the first independent 1978 wine, the sale of almost all 1,500 bottles at Vinitaly in 1981, the cobalt-blue label introduced in 1985 and the international impact of the 1989 and 1990 vintages.

The account also marked Luca and Barbara’s entry into the business, the 1994 debut of Valmaggiore, completion of the Via Pugnane winery in 1999, the Sibi et Paucis library programme and the 2017 renaming of Cannubi Boschis as ALESTE. Alessia, Stefano and Giacomo were presented as the family generation gradually assuming greater responsibility, while a new Barolo project planned for 2019 was later revealed as Vite Talin.
