Le Coste di Monforte joins the Sandrone family heritage

Luciano first encountered Le Coste di Monforte in 1999, when its owner and his friend Dino Gastaldi asked him to vinify and mature its grapes. Four vintages of work, through 2002, revealed consistent quality, and Luciano asked to be contacted if the vineyard ever became available.

The relationship resumed in 2018 through a lease with a future purchase option. The family bought the 1.92-ha parcel in 2021. It faces south to south-southeast at 410 m, making it the estate’s highest vineyard. Its altitude and position protect the vines from cold and summer heat while retaining freshness under increasingly variable climatic conditions.

From the 2019 vintage, Le Coste di Monforte joined Vignane, Baudana, Villero and Cerviano-Merli in Le Vigne. Each component is harvested, vinified and matured separately. Le Coste di Monforte contributes power, force and freshness to the final assemblage.
