About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Merlot grows in the Sassoregale estate’s vineyards in Tuscany’s Maremma area, at 100–150 m above sea level. The soils are deep and rich, with a substantial proportion of clay.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested from 10 to 30 September. Traditional vinification involves gentle skin maceration and malolactic fermentation at a controlled temperature.
Ageing
The wine rests briefly in small oak barrels.
Serving and pairing
Pairs especially well with meat dishes and cheeses.
