Monferrato received roughly half the precipitation measured in the Langhe and suffered significant water stress. In contrast, the Langhe’s first year of organic conversion required careful disease and canopy management through spring and summer rain and temperature spikes. Moscato and Brachetto were picked in the final week of August to retain acidity, while Barbera benefited from September rain and Nebbiolo was expected in the first half of October.
