The World Changes, Our Vision Doesn’t: The 2024 Harvest
More than 1,000 mm of rain—over twice the previous year’s total—made 2024 Trinchero’s most difficult Scarpa vintage since 2007. Crews opened clusters for drying, thinned to prevent sunburn during summer heat and adjusted harvesting around narrow weather windows. Thin skins led to shorter macerations and still gentler extraction. The discussion also records the move from 36 months in large casks to about 28–30 months, with more bottle ageing, plus cover crops, grassing and cultivation to improve water absorption and control erosion.
