Cristian Specogna named Best Young Italian Winemaker 2023
Cristian Specogna received Vinoway Italia’s Best Young Italian Winemaker 2023 award during the Vinoway Selection 2024 event. The awards commission recognized his contribution to the standing of Italy’s wine heritage.
The article retraces the family history from Leonardo’s 1963 purchase at Rocca Bernarda through Graziano’s specialization of the original mixed farm and the present management by Cristian and Michele. It gives the current scale as 25 hectares of vineyards and approximately 130,000 bottles per year, half exported to more than 30 countries.
Cristian links quality to environmental and social sustainability. The cited measures include organic vineyard management, photovoltaic self-sufficiency, beehives and honey production, and increased woodland for biodiversity. The Coltura e Cultura project commissions hand-painted reserve bottles and wooden cases. Through its collaboration with Fondazione ProgettoAutismo FVG onlus, special labels and collections are created by the organization’s young participants, with a substantial portion of revenue donated to its activities.
