SPORTOLETTI SU THE WINE ADVOCATE – OTTOBRE 2019

The article reproduces three reviews published by Monica Larner in the third week of October 2019. Villa Fidelia Rosso 2015 received 92 points, with a stated drinking window of 2019–2026 and annual production of approximately 30,000 bottles; the review characterized it as a full-bodied blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc matured for 12 months in barrique. Villa Fidelia Bianco 2016 received 90 points, with a 2019–2024 drinking window and production of approximately 20,000 bottles; it was described as a Grechetto–Chardonnay blend fermented and matured in oak. Assisi Rosso 2017 received 86 points, with a 2019–2021 drinking window and production of approximately 80,000 bottles; it combined Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with a brief period in wood. The article also recalls that Sportoletti began working with Riccardo Cotarella in 1998.
