About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyards lie in the heart of Valpolicella, on the southeastern hills of Negrar at 200–250 m above sea level. The vines are 25 years old on average, and the local climate is favourable.

Grapes

Corvina provides structure and power, Cabernet Sauvignon contributes stability, and Merlot adds softness.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested in the first week of October, placed in 15–20 kg wooden crates and dried in an attic for 40 days, losing 20–25% of their original weight. Fermentation begins in late November and lasts 15 days in stainless-steel tanks at 20–26 °C.

Ageing

From the end of February, the wine matures for 12 months in new French oak barrels, followed by about six months in bottle.

Tasting profile

The wine has strength, structure and power, balanced by softness.
