About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Talenti’s 20 ha of vineyards lie south of Montalcino at approximately 200–400 m above sea level, on moderately stony soils. Planting density ranges from 5,000 vines per hectare in the older vineyards to 7,000 in the newer plantings. Sangiovese occupies 15 ha; the remaining 5 ha include Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet alongside other local and international varieties.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand in the first week of September and sorted on dedicated tables. Fermentation and maceration take place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for 20–25 days, depending on the quality of the vintage.

Ageing

The wine matures for six months in French oak barrels.

Label / history

Annual production averages 15,000 bottles.
