Masi goes to the Oltrepò Pavese region

Masi Agricola signed a preliminary agreement for the purchase of the entire Casa Re estate and operating company from the Casati family. The property comprised a single 13-hectare vineyard holding, planted predominantly with Pinot Nero, along with production and hospitality buildings and a Liberty-style villa.

Formal completion was scheduled for January 2024, following satisfaction of the contractual conditions, while Masi was to take direct responsibility for viticulture at the end of the current crop year. Federico Girotto presented the acquisition as a complementary move into the home territory of Italian Metodo Classico and as a source of potential synergies with Masi’s sparkling-wine activities elsewhere.

Eugenio Casati anticipated that Masi’s resources and professional expertise would develop the property while benefiting Oltrepò Pavese. Colline e Oltre S.p.A. facilitated the transaction; Masi was advised by Studio Alberti Ubini Castagnetti Maggi, and the Casati family by Stefania Casati.
