About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
A red wine from the Villa Le Pavoniere vineyards in Bolgheri. Its name derives from an Etruscan word interpreted as “the blood of the earth.”
Grapes
30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot and 5% Syrah.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place under controlled temperatures.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in oak barriques.
Tasting profile
Deep ruby red with violet highlights. The bouquet combines blackberry and blueberry fruit with restrained nuances of leather and tobacco. Structured on the palate, with present yet notably supple tannins and excellent persistence.
