About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Sangiovese grown in Tuscany.

Grapes

Sangiovese.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand, selected and destemmed at approximately 18°C. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled cement vats; the temperature rises gradually to approximately 28°C toward the end. Maceration lasts around 20 days, with daily pump-overs and a short délestage near the conclusion. After draining, the pomace is pressed gently and the wine is racked. Malolactic fermentation and the first months of maturation take place in cement.

Ageing

A further six months in second-fill French oak tonneaux, followed by six months in bottle.

Technical data

DOCG Morellino di Scansano. Alcohol: 13.5% vol. Production: 6,400 bottles. Format: 0.75 L.

Tasting profile

Bright ruby red with purple reflections. The nose is fresh, intense and expressive, recalling ripe red fruit and woodland berries. On the palate it is soft and balanced, with juicy cherry and sour-cherry notes. Dense, rounded tannins provide depth and persistence, while the clean, vivid fruit keeps the wine fresh and inviting.

Serving and pairing

Suitable as an aperitif and with Tuscan-style antipasti, cured meats, pasta dishes and red meat.
