About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from Villa Sandi’s vineyards on the sunniest hillsides of the Valdobbiadene area. The morainic land has limestone soils containing marl and, in places, calcareous clay. The area has a distinctive microclimate.
Grapes
Glera is supplemented by small amounts of Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and pressed as whole bunches in a pneumatic press. The first fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at 15–16 °C. A second fermentation follows in temperature-controlled autoclaves using the Charmat method. Fermentation is stopped by cooling once the intended alcohol and sugar levels have been reached.
Ageing
The wine matures on its fine lees for 120 days before bottling.
Label / history
The name “La Rivetta” has become a symbol of the local terroir.
