Vineyard and terroir
The organically farmed vineyard is located near Marsala in western Sicily, at 12 m above sea level. The vines are vertically trellised with the fruiting cane positioned 40 cm above the ground. Planting density is 5,000 vines per hectare, and the vines average 21 years of age. The medium-textured red soils derive from calcareous sub-Apennine sands of Pliocene origin.

100% Zibibbo.
Vinification
Harvest begins in early September. The wine ferments spontaneously on its skins in terracotta amphorae with indigenous yeasts.
Ageing
Maturation takes place in terracotta amphora and bottle.
