Vineyard and terroir
The Chardonnay grows on the hills of eastern Veneto, near Lake Garda. The vineyards have well-drained, stony moraine soils, which limit vine growth and help concentrate aromatic compounds in the grapes. The south-eastern exposure gives plenty of morning sunshine, so the grapes ripen evenly without losing their balance. Corte Giara grapes come from vineyards on the highest and steepest slopes.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in the first week of September, at the best balance of ripeness and acidity. They undergo cold skin maceration for one day, which gently draws out aromatic compounds. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at 14–15 °C, preserving the fresh citrus and floral notes of the variety.
Ageing
The wine ages for four months, during which part of it undergoes malolactic fermentation. This gives a soft, rounded texture and a light creamy touch while keeping the flavours fresh and clean.
Tasting profile
Fresh, balanced and elegant, with a soft texture and delicate fruit. Citrus and floral notes, with a light creamy touch. The 2025 has ripe fruit notes and a lively, well-defined structure.
Serving and pairing
The producer suggests it for warm evenings in late spring and summer. The white wines of Corte Giara are versatile and pair well even with the most exotic dishes; no specific dishes are named.
Vintage notes
2025 (Veneto): weather was favourable and well balanced. A cool spring let the vines develop gradually, and a warm, steady summer ripened the grapes without loss of acidity. Differences between day and night temperatures toward the end of the season helped preserve bright aromas and freshness.
