Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the Coste di Rose and Castellero sites in the Barolo area. The vineyards lie on the hills of the Langhe at 190–285 metres above sea level, on mineral-rich gypsum-marl and limestone soils. These soils retain moisture well while putting the vines under the stress needed to produce concentrated, aromatically complex grapes. Piedmont's continental climate, with warm days and cool nights, allows slow ripening while preserving acidity and precise aromas.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place partly in open French oak vats and partly in stainless steel, with gentle pump-overs and manual punch-downs, so that tannins and aromas are extracted carefully. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine is aged in large oak casks, which keeps the character of the grape clear.
Tasting profile
Elegant, aromatic and expressive, with classic Piedmont character and a well-defined structure. Berry and fruit notes meet delicate floral aromas, with firm, refined tannins. The palate shows bright fruit, freshness and Nebbiolo's characteristic nervy structure. In this younger, more approachable Langhe style Nebbiolo shows a softer side while keeping its distinctive structure and its ability to develop over time.
Serving and pairing
Suited to long autumn or winter dinners with slow-cooked meat.
