Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in Tuscany, near the town of Montepulciano.
Vinification
Made by a traditional method. The grapes ferment on their skins at a controlled temperature, so the wine draws a full range of flavours and aromas from the skins.
Ageing
The wine ages in barrels for 18 months, then spends at least 6 months in stainless steel tanks. The slow ageing in oak barrels gives it a lovely structure and rounded tannins.
Tasting profile
Well structured, with rounded tannins.
Label / history
The wine belongs to the Barbanera Since 1938 range, which the producer calls "a festive element alongside the tradition of many generations that has guided our work". The range reflects the winery's history and the steady, long-term development of its style, quality and philosophy. Every bottle carries a heraldic crest:
- The helmet at the top stands for the noble character of the wines.
- The many hills at the base stand for strength, stability and wisdom, and are the ground in which the central cypress takes root.
- Two stylised lilies around the cypress symbolise power and sovereignty.
- The elements surrounding the crest represent the integrity and eternal life of the Barbanera family.
