Questo vino

Vineyard and terroir

Produced in Montepulciano, in the province of Siena, from grapes gathered across Fattoria del Cerro’s estate-owned vineyards. Silìneo is conceived as the estate’s classic expression of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, combining respect for the potential of Sangiovese in Montepulciano with a modern interpretation of the denomination.

Grapes

Sangiovese with other traditional grape varieties.

Vinification

Fermentation and maceration take place at a controlled 24–28°C, with daily pumping over. The wine is racked after fermentation.

Ageing

Following racking, the wine matures for at least 18 months in large oak barrels.

Tasting profile

Aromas of cherry and small red fruits lead into an elegant yet bold palate. The finish is long and persistent.

Serving and pairing

Pair with roasted meat dishes and mature cheeses.

Label / history

Silìneo is the most classic wine of Fattoria del Cerro and brings together fruit from all the estate’s vineyards. Its invented name evokes elegance, sinuosity and balance, while its visual form recalls the harmonious contours of the hills surrounding the vineyards.
