Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from four estate vineyards whose vines average 28 years of age.
Vinification
For the 2013 vintage, the grapes were harvested by hand on 27 September, then sorted, destemmed and pressed. Each variety was vinified separately. The juice was transferred to fermentation tanks by gravity. Fermentation lasted approximately 22 days, beginning at 21 °C and gradually reaching 30 °C, followed by 27 days of maceration at 28–30 °C. Malolactic fermentation took place in small wooden barrels, and the final blend was assembled only after it was complete.
Ageing
The wine matured for 12 months in small wooden barrels made from wood seasoned for three years; 70% of the barrels were new.
Label / history
This was the first Ca’ Del Bosco wine whose label bore the signature of its creator and the winery’s founder, Maurizio Zanella. It is bottled with a filling system designed to exclude oxygen and avoid agitation, helping preserve the wine’s character.
