Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Pinot Grigio grows at 30 m above sea level in vineyards with clay and sandy soils. The estate lies on fertile land in the province of Treviso, near the Piave River.
Vinification
The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation. It is stabilized and microfiltered before bottling.
Ageing
There is no maturation before bottling. The bottled wine rests in the winery’s cellars for 60 days before release.
Tasting profile
Elegant, with an intense aroma and a full flavour.
Label / history
In ancient usage, Rajo meant “Paradise.” The estate, also known as Ca'di Raja, includes a church containing an image of the Madonna del Carmine and the ruins of a monastery built in 1507. The Cecchetto and Giol families planted vineyards on previously unused land in 1960, and the property passed entirely to the Cecchetto family in 1972. Its modern winery retains the traditional architectural style of the Piave area, and its cellars are surrounded by vineyards.
