Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Glera is grown in the commune of Rai di San Polo di Piave, in the province of Treviso, Veneto. The vineyards have clay and sandy soils, which contribute freshness and a light texture.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested carefully and pressed gently to preserve their aromas and delicate texture. Malolactic fermentation is avoided to retain bright acidity. Secondary fermentation follows the Charmat method.
Ageing
The wine spends a short period on the lees.
Tasting profile
Fine, soft bubbles carry aromas of green apple, pear and white flowers. The palate is fresh, fruity and floral, with bright acidity and no pronounced yeasty character.
Label / history
The estate takes its name from Rai, which was known as Rajo in ancient times. In 1960, the Cecchetto and Giol families planted vineyards on previously unused land; the estate passed entirely to the Cecchetto family in 1972.
