Vineyard and terroir

The vineyard lies about 10 km north of Bibbona, on south- and southeast-facing hills. Its international varieties were planted from the early 1990s, and the selected plots contain both young and mature vines. The soils combine clay and marl with mineral-rich pebbles, sand and silt. Clay contributes weight and structure, while the stony components lend a firm mineral character. A windy climate and the hillside exposure ventilate the vines and promote even ripening; warm days encourage ripeness, while cool nights preserve freshness and balanced acidity. Yields are controlled, with green pruning and careful plot selection supporting clean, consistent fruit.

Grapes

The blend changes from one year to the next.

Vinification

The grapes are sorted by hand and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks with controlled maceration. Stainless steel and meticulous fruit selection preserve varietal purity and fresh berry character.

Ageing

The wine matures for 12–16 months in French barriques, including a proportion of new barrels, followed by at least one year in bottle before release. Barrel ageing softens the tannins, adds depth and contributes spicy, toasted and vanilla notes.

Tasting profile

Serious, elegant and focused, the wine is concentrated yet restrained. Refined, juicy berry fruit is accompanied by graphite-like minerality, subtle spice, toast and vanilla. The palate has a dense texture, firm structure, balanced acidity and a mineral backbone, leading to a savoury, mineral finish.

Serving and pairing

Pair with grilled meat and hearty autumn dishes.

Label / history

The vineyard became part of the estate in 2019. This is a relatively new wine for the estate, first released with the 2021 vintage.
