Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from vineyards owned by Caparzo, Borgo Scopeto and Doga delle Clavule.
Grapes
Chardonnay forms the main part of the blend, supplemented by small quantities of Trebbiano, Muscat and Vermentino.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness. Each variety ferments separately for 15–16 days at a controlled temperature of 16–18 °C. Fermentation is stopped early for a small portion of the Chardonnay, leaving additional residual sugar for the final blend. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation.
Tasting profile
Fresh and easy-drinking.
Vintage notes
In 2020, pandemic restrictions made the season difficult across Tuscany and the rest of Italy. The growing season was unusually warm and dry: a mild winter was followed by a spring with sunny days and light showers, then a hot, dry summer that brought the fruit rapidly to phenolic ripeness. Cool nights helped preserve acidity and bright aromatic character despite the daytime heat. Harvest took place in good weather at the end of September, with the fruit in excellent condition.
Label / history
The label bears a historic family crest representing the relationship among Caparzo, Borgo Scopeto and Doga delle Clavule. Its shield contains three roses, symbolizing the three wineries.
