Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from selected grapes in the estate's youngest vineyards, on Capichera's own land in Gallura, in the north of Sardinia near Arzachena. The estate tends more than 50 hectares in the north of the island, on firm granite soils mixed with sandy rock. Vermentino is well adapted to hot summers, a harsh climate and strong winds.
Vinification
Harvest begins in late August, when the grapes reach optimal ripeness, and ends in early September. Fermentation takes place in neutral stainless steel tanks and is fully computer-controlled. The steel preserves the freshness and aromas of the variety.
Ageing
The wine is aged in neutral stainless steel tanks.
Tasting profile
Dry, with fresh minerality on the palate. Light, easy-drinking and youthful, with an intense aroma and expressive character. Lively and balanced.
Serving and pairing
Serve chilled as an aperitif.
Label / history
Lintóri means "Morning Dew". It was first produced in 2010. The estate's first wine under the Capichera name was released in 1981, a Vermentino from the 1980 vintage.
The Ragnedda family's grandfather bought the land in Gallura at the beginning of the twentieth century, and the family first made wine only for its own use. Mario and Fabrizio Ragnedda began commercial production in the 1970s, expanding the vineyards and building a new winery. A further winery with state-of-the-art technology was built in 2001. The estate works only with native varieties, Vermentino and Carignano, and does not grow or blend international ones. It supplements its own harvest with some grapes bought from neighbouring growers. Today it makes five white wines from Vermentino and three red wines from Carignano, with annual production of at least 300000 bottles.
