Vineyard and terroir
The vines grow at around 230 m above sea level, near Lake Kaltern. The soils are sandy loam and calcareous gravel. A marked difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures helps the grapes keep their aromatic character and freshness while reaching a good balance of ripeness.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested and sorted by hand. After gentle pressing, the must is clarified naturally by settling. 90% of the wine ferments in stainless steel tanks; the remainder ferments in previously used French barrels. Malolactic fermentation is avoided to preserve freshness and a clean fruit profile.
Ageing
The wine ages on the fine lees, which gives a rounder texture and greater depth of flavour.
Tasting profile
Expressive, combining freshness, ripe fruit and the lively minerality typical of mountain wines. The nose shows ripe apricot, pear and lemon, with a light hint of almond. The palate is full, juicy and energetic, with refreshing acidity and a long finish.
Serving and pairing
Suited to fish, pasta and light Mediterranean dishes.
