Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow on sunny hillsides in Trentino, where the mountain climate and plentiful sunshine help preserve the variety's expressive aromas.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed. The skins are removed quickly to keep the wine's pale colour and clean taste. Vinification takes place in steel tanks with no oak contact, which highlights the natural aromas of Gewurztraminer.
Ageing
The wine ages in steel, which keeps it fresh and gives it a more delicate taste.
Tasting profile
Aromatic and expressive, with a distinctive spicy and fruity character. Bright yet smooth, it opens gently with notes of ripe fruit, honey and spices. The finish is delicate and slightly spicy. Fragrant and full of character without feeling heavy.
Label / history
"Mastri Vernacoli" is a Cavit range of Trentino DOC wines, from Müller-Thurgau to Gewurztraminer and from Teroldego Rotaliano to Marzemino. Cavit was founded in 1950 as a community and corporate group created by Trentino winemakers to improve quality control and simplify the process. It is based in northeastern Italy and supports almost 4500 small wineries. It produces 65% of all the wine made in Trentino each year, and its vineyards cover 7000 ha.
