Vinification
The grapes undergo extended skin maceration. Fermentation uses specially selected yeasts, and the wine then completes malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine ages in 300-litre barrels for 14–18 months. After bottling it rests a further 6 months before release.
Tasting profile
Pleasant, with the intense, rounded flavour and expressive aroma the text attributes to Sangiovese.
Label / history
The label shows an Etruscan warrior, which explains the wine's name. The Etruscans were an ancient civilisation living in what is now Tuscany during the first millennium BCE.
