Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from an 11-hectare plot south of Florence, facing southwest at 180 metres above sea level. Its soils are clay with limestone and gravel.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks and is followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures in 225-litre oak barrels.
Tasting profile
The wine is layered, expressive and balanced. Merlot contributes soft tannins, complementing the richness and spice of Cabernet Sauvignon and the elegant aromas of Cabernet Franc.
Label / history
In the fourteenth century, the Collazzi family took part in the fight for Florence’s freedom. In recognition of their loyalty and courage, they received a family coat of arms bearing the motto “Liberta,” meaning “Freedom.” The motto was later placed on the family’s wine labels, and production of a wine bearing the same name began in 2008.
