Vineyard and terroir
Garnacha Tintorera is selected from low-yielding vineyards more than 60 years old in Almansa, Albacete. The vines grow at 1,090 metres above sea level in red soil rich in iron oxides, over a layer of calcareous rock.
Grapes
100% Garnacha Tintorera.
Vinification
The fruit receives light destemming. Maceration and fermentation continue together for 25 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in American and French oak.
Ageing
Twelve months in American and French oak.
Tasting profile
Deep garnet red. The intense, persistent aroma combines cherry and blackcurrant with aromatic herbs, cinnamon, cloves, cocoa, licorice and mineral nuances. The palate has substantial structure, velvety tannins and a long, persistent finish. It can be enjoyed young or cellared.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 18–20°C with rich first courses or game.
