Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
Sangiovese is selected from several estate crus at 150–250 metres above sea level. The rows have a north–south exposure, a planting density of 6,400 vines per hectare and bilateral spur-pruned cordon training.
Grapes
Sangiovese. The wine was conceived to express the variety without wood ageing, emphasizing concentrated fruit together with savoury and balsamic nuances.
Vinification
Harvest takes place in the second half of September. After careful selection, the grapes undergo soft destemming and crushing. Temperature-controlled fermentation lasts 20–25 days in thermoregulated stainless-steel tanks. The wine is cold stabilized.
Ageing
Ageing comprises 12 months in large truncated-conical concrete vessels followed by at least 12 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Ruby red with violet reflections. The nose combines ripe red fruit and cherry with tobacco leaf, medicinal herbs and balsamic notes. The palate is full and persistent, with clearly defined, elegant tannins.
Label / history
The first Sinarra vinification took place in 2007, marking the estate’s renewed focus on Sangiovese.
