Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Il Mulino vineyard, at 260 metres above sea level. The vines were planted experimentally in 1976, with the first harvest following in 1982.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The wine matures for 18 months in oak barrels, followed by one year in bottle.
Label / history
The name refers to the saying “Nemo propheta in patria” (“No prophet is accepted in his own country”), alluding to the decision to plant a variety not traditionally associated with the area.
