Vineyard and terroir
Le Clos des Ducs is identified as one of Domaine Camu’s best parcels. It once formed part of the prestigious Clos des Ducs associated with the Dukes of Burgundy. The estate lies on the hill of Vézelay, where the terroir is predominantly clay-limestone.
Label / history
Viticulture at Vézelay dates to Gallo-Roman times. Benedictine settlement at the end of the ninth century encouraged wine production, while the Dukes of Burgundy held estates here during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. The vineyard subsequently expanded from the eighteenth century.
