Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie on the hill of Vézelay, known as the “Eternal Hill,” and have predominantly clay-limestone soils. Viticulture here dates to Gallo-Roman times and developed further after Benedictine monks established a monastery at the end of the ninth century. The vineyard expanded from the eighteenth century.
Grapes
The rosé is made from Pinot Noir, also locally identified as Pinot Fin.
