Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown in the municipality of Mezzocorona. Vineyard yields are kept low by thinning and removing excess bunches, reducing the potential crop by almost half.
Vinification
The must undergoes traditional red-wine vinification with a long maceration on the skins.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in small oak barrels and a further six months in stainless-steel tanks. After bottling, it rests for six months in the winery’s cool cellars.
Label / history
“Grener” derives from a dialect form of the German word Grödner, the name used in Mezzocorona for the Val Gardena valley. The label reproduces a wood engraving by Trento graphic artist Remo Wolf.
