Vineyard and terroir
Eventi comes from Merlot vineyards in the municipality of La Morra, at 450 m above sea level. These south- and southwest-facing vines grow in calcareous-clay soil and are trained to Guyot. Their average age is 40 years. The wine originated with the first Merlot vines planted in the village of La Morra, which are now more than 40 years old; the soil contributes power and elegance.
Grapes
Merlot.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested manually from late September to early October, then destemmed and crushed. Maceration takes place in temperature-controlled tanks at 25–26°C for 12–15 days, with daily pump-overs, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
Maturation takes place in oak vessels of different capacities. The wine develops greater complexity in bottle while remaining approachable in its youth.
Tasting profile
Intense garnet red. The wine page evokes violet, dried rose and small berries, whereas the technical sheet describes ripe fruit alternating with spice. On the palate, the tannins integrate with Merlot’s characteristic sweetness, producing a balanced expression.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 16–18°C. Pair with red meat and mature cheese, particularly steak or a juicy hamburger.
Label / history
Eventi expresses an interest in classic international varieties through Merlot planted in Barolo country. Its name presents the wine as an “event,” linked to the pioneering Merlot vines established in La Morra.
