Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards lie in the hills of the commune of Gibellino, at 200–300 m above sea level, in sunny Sicilian hill country where the grapes reach full ripeness. Planting density is 4,200 vines per hectare, so each vine concentrates its nutrients on fewer bunches, giving grapes with more concentrated aromas and flavours.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness. Fermentation lasts 12–15 days at 24–30 °C, with the must pumped over daily.
Ageing
The wine ages for 4 months in stainless steel tanks to preserve its fresh fruit character.
Tasting profile
Full-flavoured, with a distinctly Sicilian character. Nero d'Avola gives depth and a velvety texture. The palate shows rich fruit notes, balanced acidity and soft tannins. The style keeps the pure fruit of the grape at the forefront, with freshness, brightness and individual character.
